Addressing even a single challenge women and girls are facing based on the priorities within countries, as highlighted within the data and report, will start to make the health and lives of women and girls better.”
Here are just some of the findings:
- World leaders need to do better on women’s health. Every country scored below an acceptable standard on the Index.
- Preventive care is underserved. 61% of women did not get tested for any of the most damaging diseases for women.

- Physical pain is a daily issue. 30% of women report experiencing physical pain during a lot of the previous day.
- Women’s Health is preventing them from living their lives. 20% of women say they have health problems that prevent them from doing things people their age normally do.
“Preventive measures are a crucial first step to combating diseases and infections affecting life expectancy and fertility in women,” Hologic Vice President of Global Medical Affairs Susan Harvey said in a news release. “Failing to ensure women get routine testing for cancers, sexually transmitted diseases and infections, and cardiometabolic diseases can lead to larger complications that would otherwise be preventable if monitored or treated early.”
