Black Women’s Health Imperative to Host Virtual Wellness Summit

The Black Women’s Health Imperative will host its virtual BWHI Wellness Summit on Thursday, Jan. 14 from 7 – 9:30 p.m. This free event will feature wellness experts and influencers who will offer advice and resources to help Black women explore new ways to approach holistic health in three key areas: mind, money, and movement.

The Black Women’s Health Imperative (BWHI) is a national non-profit organization dedicated to advancing health equity and social justice for Black women, across the lifespan, through policy, advocacy, education, research, and leadership development. The organization identifies the most pressing health issues that affect the nation’s 22 million Black women and girls and invests in the best of the best strategies and organizations that accomplish its goals.

The BWHI Wellness Summit will be moderated by actress and media personality Rashan Ali and will feature highly acclaimed experts and personalities who will guide the audience through a variety of strategies and exercises created to help ensure a healthy new year. These thoughtfully planned sessions will feature:

  • The Mind Session with recording artist Avery Sunshine, Sheri Riley, author of Exponential Living, and Dr. Jessica Shepherd, MD, MBA, Founder of Her Viewpoint, is presented by Poise®. This session will include emotional wellness tips and tools that are central to determining how we approach all aspects of life.
  • The Money Session guides women to the basics about budgeting and financial planning to help you find peace and contentment during uncertain times with financial expert Tonya Rapley, Founder of My Fab Finance.
  • Finally, The Movement Session was created to provide some fun and enticing new alternatives to traditional exercise since many are apprehensive about going to the gym, or plain tired of the same workout. This session will be led by Recording Artist & Yogini Solé, founder of Devi Tribe Wellness, who will get your creative juices flowing about ways to stay active and centered.

Registration for the Wellness Summit is available at 2021wellnesssummit.eventbrite.com.
