Femtech Health Platform Debuts In Connecticut With Contraceptive Delivery

Nurx, a California-based provider of online contraception and women’s health services, launched in Connecticut today.

Using its app or website, Nurx connects patients with medical providers who offer birth control, STI home testing and treatment, migraine diagnosis and care, herpes treatment, HIV prevention and emergency contraception.

Birth control options including the pill, patch, ring, and shot are offered and can be delivered to a patient’s home within days of approval by a Nurx provider.

“The pandemic has shown that telehealth is more than a convenient option for patients, it is an essential part of the healthcare system,” Nurx CEO Varsha Rao said.

Nurx said 350,000 patients use its services in 32 states, now including Connecticut. Health insurance coverage is not required to use the platform nor are in-person visits to providers.
